Did you know…?

If you have an issue, please reach out to us at support@onco-nav.com or call us at 888-369-1791.

While we are always happy to answer your calls and emails, our Support team hopes that the Tips, Tricks and Reminders provided below will make your workday go a little smoother.

Common OncoNav Support Issues

OncoNav clients and users are encouraged to reach out with any issues they may have. Sometimes those issues are easily resolved and sometimes they lead to development projects that enhance the application. We’ve gathered a few common OncoNav Support issues and provided a few helpful tips to avoid and/or resolve them.

Change password prior to lock out

The most common support issue we get is assistance with changing a password. Several days prior to a password expiring, OncoNav will display a warning that the password is expiring and will include the ability to change it then. Once the password expires, you will need to contact our technical support team to assist you in changing it. To avoid this, be sure to change your password at the initial prompt.

Error messages related to copy/paste

OncoNav users often copy notes and other documentation and paste that into OncoNav. This is encouraged to help streamline OncoNav documentation and avoid complete duplication of documentation efforts in multiple systems. Occasionally, however, this can trigger an error based on how the original system handles certain characters. For example, Word often changes the dash character ‘-‘ to a longer version of it ‘–‘ which OncoNav does not support and may trigger the error message displayed below. When that occurs, review the data you are attempting to save thoroughly for any mishandled characters. Once they are changed, you should be able to save as expected.

Unlocking patients

Patient records can be locked for various reasons including when an OncoNav user does not exit the patient record before the system times out and closes the application or when another user is currently in that patient’s record. When you attempt to open a locked patient record, you will see the pop-up window below. This window displays the user who locked the record and when it was locked. If you locked the patient record, you will have the option to unlock and open that patient record immediately to continue your work. Otherwise, you can open the patient in read only. To unlock the patient record, contact the user who locked the patient or reach out to your OncoNav super user or OncoNav Support to unlock the patient record for you, if appropriate.

Tips & Tricks

  • Drop Down Fields

    • Use the drop down to select the correct response or simply begin typing the value in the space to filter and select the desired response
  • Accidentally edit data in the wrong field in Patient Entry?

    • Before leaving the window, click in the field and press F5 on your keyboard to return data to its original state
  • Type ‘t’ for today

    • Type the letter ‘t’ in the date field rather than using the calendar button to select today
    • Use ‘t’ as a shortcut when creating a timeframe or selecting a date
      • T+7 = 7 days from now
      • T-365 = one year ago
      • T+30 = 30 days from now
  • Do you want to export grid data, but there is no ‘Export’ button?

    • Click any row in the grid and press Ctrl+E on your keyboard to export the data from any grid
